Choir Changes

— from Pastor Steve

Some of you commented last Sunday that you miss the choir and look forward to them starting up again. For cost saving reasons, we have had to let our long time choir director Becky Smith go. This was not an easy thing to do as Becky had been with us for a long time and provided valuable leadership. But with limited funds and the need to increase the support to our Neighborhood Ministry, the Staff-Parish Relations Committee felt this was a direction that we needed to go.
Our organist/pianist Carolyn Lamcke will be directing choir as well as providing our instrumental music.I am grateful for Becky’s twenty years of leadership and thankful that Carolyn is willing to jump in and help us out. Choir will start rehearsing in September and will be providing music in worship soon.
Make a joyful noise!

Home Sweet Home

–from Steve
Got home last night from a little drive of 4,300 miles that included six National Parks and a visit with relatives in Montana. It is good to be home and back in my own bed and back in the daily routine. You know how that is. But I do feel that I need to take a vacation in order to recover from this trip.
